Abu Taha Al-Sudani was both an Al-Qaeda operative and Al-Shabaab member with reportedly close ties to Osama bin Laden (perhaps from his residence in Sudan from 1991-1996). Al-Sudani was believed to have provided financial support to the Al-Qaeda cell in Somalia and Kenya, assisting in the planning and logistics of the 1998 U.S embassy attacks and the attack on Paradise Hotel in 2002. Al-Sudani was also suspected of planning an attack on a U.S military base in Djibouti in 2006 before he was killed in a U.S airstrike in 2007.
