Aboud Rogo was a radical Muslim Cleric with alleged links to Al-Shabaab. Rogo was accused of funding, supplying young recruits and weapons for the terrorist organisation. Rogo also allegedly harbored Fazul Abdullah Mohammed (Fadil Harun), an Al-Qaeda suspect said to be involved in the 1998 U.S embassy bombings between 2001 and 2003, while also allegedly being involved in the Kikambala hotel bombing in 2002. Rogo was placed on a U.S sanctions list in 2012 after Kenyan police allegedly found him in possession with weapons including explosives and guns. He was later charged with a plot to instigate an attack in Kenya over Christmas.
A few months later, in August 2012, Rogo was killed in a drive-by shooting in Mombasa, Kenya by unknown assailants.
